    MSFS 2020 hängt im Update-Bildschirm

    Hallo!

    :)

    MSFS 2020 hängt im Update-Bildschirm

    Hi SvenVogel2

Thanks for contacting the Xbox Forums! I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with Flight Simulator being stuck on an Update screen. Below are a few suggestions that may help.

    1. Run the game as administrator
      1. Close the game and restart your computer
      2. In the search box on the taskbar, type Microsoft Flight Simulator
      3. Select Run as administrator
    1. Scan and repair your game files
      1. Steam
        1. Go to your Steam Library
        2. Right-click Microsoft Flight Simulator and select Properties…
        3. Navigate to the LOCAL FILES tab
        4. Click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES…
        5. Steam will scan the installation and download missing files or remove outdated or corrupted files. This process will take several minutes.
        6. Relaunch Microsoft Flight Simulator and test if you can get past the checking for updates screen.
      2. Windows
        1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Microsoft Flight Simulator
        2. Click App Settings
        3. On the page that opens, select Repair
        4. Windows will begin to scan and repair your game files
        5. After the process is complete, relaunch the game and test if you can get past the checking for updates screen.
    1. Install all Windows updates
      1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and I at the same time to open Windows Settings.
      2. Click Update & Security
      3. Under the Windows Update, click Check for updates. Windows will automatically download and install the available updates.
      4. Once you have installed all the updates, restart your computer and Microsoft Flight Simulator to test if the game loads correctly.
    1. Move the community folder
      1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and E at the same time to open File Explorer. In the search bar, type the following address to locate the Community Folder.

        Microsoft Store version:

        C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages

        Steam version:

        AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages

        Retail disc version:

        C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages)
NOTE: If you have installed the packages on a different drive than C: you will need to look inside your custom installation folder instead.
      1. Right-click the Community Folder and select Cut.
      2. Paste the Community Folder on your desktop or drive of choice.
      3. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator to see if you can get past the checking for updates screen.
    1. Check your security software
      1. On your keyboard, press the Window logo key and I at the same time to open Windows Settings.
      2. Click Update & Security.
      3. In the left panel, select Windows Security, then click Virus & threat protection.
      4. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
      5. Under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.
      6. Click Add an exclusion, and then select Microsoft Flight Simulator.
    1. Do a clean install
      1. Microsoft Store version
        1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Microsoft Flight Simulator.
        2. Select Uninstall.
        3. Click Uninstall again to remove the game.
        4. Once uninstalled, check to make sure all files are deleted. The default installation location is:
          1. C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe
          2. Note: If you have installed the packages in a custom folder, search for that folder instead.
        5. Move any leftover files or folders to the Recycle Bin.
        6. Reinstall the game from Microsoft Store.
      2. Steam version
        1. Go to your Steam Library.
        2. Right-click Microsoft Flight Simulator and select Properties….
        3. Select the LOCAL FILES tab.
        4. Click UNINSTALL GAME….
        5. Click Uninstall again to remove the game.
        6. Once uninstalled, check to make sure that all the packages are deleted. The default package installation location is:
          1. C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages
          2. Note: If you have installed the packages in a custom folder, search for that folder instead.
        7. Move any leftover files or folders to the Recycle Bin.
        8. Reinstall the game from Steam.

Latest mandatory update for flight simulator 2020 not showing up or downloading in microsoft store.

I can also confirm this worked for me on PC. I downloaded the XBOX app via the store.

Then, in store, clicked the three dots.

Then "downloads and updates" and sure enough there was an update for MSFS 2020 1.19.9.0. This was 507.0MB.

I then started MSFS 2020 which went to its own install manager and showed me the "Standard Content" mandatory update which was 108.12MB. The total download, however, was 3.19GB.

I then downloaded all available updates in content manager.

Once all this was complete I quit to desktop and restarted MSFS 2020 without issue.

I think it's VERY strange to need to install the XBOX app for any updates to show in the PC's Microsoft store!!

    Can't reinstall MSFS 2020 on Windows 10

On October 30, 2021, I tried downloading again, and it worked. After the download, I was able to launch MSFS 2020, reinstall all the updates, and fly.

Problem with Xbox Gamingservices and MSFS 2020 on PC windows 10

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunatler none of the actions works. I uninstalled MSFS 2020 and even formatted the disc it was installed on.

The problem now is that both MSFS 2020 and Xbox Gameservices in Microsoft Store are marked with error and requires new download/ update which are also marked with error message as soon as I try to do anything.

No matter what ever I have tried so far ( Windows Store repair, Windows Store repair and components update, among others plus reinstalling Xbox app) I am still not able to install MSFS again.

Maybe the only solution is to reinstall Windows?
