MSFS 2020 cockpit controls not functioning

I have recently updated MSFS 2020 to the latest version, and am now experiencing an issue; the mouse will not operate any cockpit controls.

Hovering mouse over a control highlights that control in blue, but control cannot be operated. This applies to every single operable control in the cockpit. As a result, the aircraft cannot be operated. I use a HOTAS Thrustmaster which operates the control surfaces and throttle, and this works.

From a thread I found on an FS forum, I have tried the following, all without success;

Click the ‘Reset Camera’ button in the camera menu

Restart the flight

Disable the co-pilot assists

Undock and then close the various menu UIs (ATC, Camera, VFR Map, etc)

Move any undocked windows that are on separate monitors back to your simulation monitor

Double click on one of the menu windows (such as ATC) - this seems to force the mouse to function again

I'm extremely frustrated to have spent a considerable amount of money on this sim, and it's not functioning. Does anyone have any bright ideas to resolve, perhaps I'm missing something obvious?

Sorry to hear it. Please make sure there are no pending updates for your PC. Even the smallest update can cause issues with games and apps. I would also like to suggest checking to make sure your Drivers (graphics, hardware, etc) have no pending updates.

I also am experiencing problems with a TM T-Flight HOTAS. Issues generally relate to crossover between throttle and rudder inputs; where Z- input induces a right rudder action and Z+ sends you off to the left - and standard rudder inputs are unable to correct. I have run simple take-off & landing practice drills in an effort to pinpoint the problem, but the actual failures vary somewhat. On the dead-stick landing practice which by definition sets the throttle at neutral, failures still occur with only slight inputs to the X-Y axis. Re-sets, calibration, nothing seems to help.

Well, that would best option as you mentioned however I'll be straight with you. I am a professional corporate pilot and I do have a new Airplane assigned Longitude 700 (apparently MSFS 2020 Deluxe Premium version has it) and really getting new systems, especially G5000 differences the best option is really commercial Training software that really is not available for any of plane. So laptop is the best option for moving machines around and using downtime to cover systems. I just hope that all options and buttons and G5000 screens and options are functional in MSFS 2020, Longitude type.

If you have a better and more portable gaming laptop that will run MSFS 2020, and get limited upgrade options, I'll definitely jump on it right away.
