ms-xbl-multiplayer link error

I have never played multiplayer, and keep trying to join a friend and it give me the error "ms-xbl-multiplayer link" which is a non-existent link. I found the previous recommendation to solve it, and it didn't help. Can I get someone to help me through my PC? I haven't touched Minecraft in years and never really did because of starting college, so I think I could've deleted something else important. I think it would be most helpful if someone takes a look.

Enable Minecraft Multiplayer

Organizers (adult accounts) in an Xbox family group can make sure that members (child accounts) can play all or some features of one of our favorite family-friendly titles, Minecraft.
