I had purchased MS Flight Sim 40th Anniversary edition some years ago. I downloaded it from the MS Store and installed it on the new PC. After a 129+ GB update, I attempted to open it. During the opening process I saw that some additional updates were installing.

During the update process the background music started cutting in and out and the whole thing crashed. Reopening the game, an error message appeared saying that the game shut down unexpectedly and suggesting restarting in Safe Mode. Starting in Safe Mode has no effect and the game crashes at the same point.

I disabled my third party audio, etc. but the thing still crashes.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.
