MS Edge - Video player

Only MS could devise a service so advanced, so cutting edge, that it alone is capable of tossing you out of videos mid-stream. Cheap <$100, free-to-stream blu-ray players don't stand a chance against this kind of pure incompetence. They can only stream videos
beginning to end. It takes $60 a year to MS to get a feature that tells you, in the middle of your video, ""Sorry, this video cannot be played." It's not evolutionary, it's revolutionary.

No error message, the video player opens on the page, and the loading loop arrow on the video player just loops and loops never playing the video.

It used to work before the last update to Edge.

Man, I guess the Microsoft Edge don't support all the video players or the all video formats, sometimes I have these problems too. Maybe the problem is the website, or, like I said, the Edge.

Flash player is not supported on Edge. I don't think it will ever be possible to get Flash onto the Xbox One -- it's becoming a very deprecated standard for online videos and animated media. While Edge is basically a port of the same browser found in Windows
10, it is a limited experience on the Xbox One since you are not allowed to download files, install add-ons, or customize too many settings.

Anyway, what you might be looking for is "HTML5". That is supported in Edge; I'm able to watch YouTube videos (as well as interact with the video player buttons) without a problem. If it is YouTube you're trying to watch, you could
always download the official YouTube app on the Xbox Store for free. If it isn't YouTube, you'll probably have to hope that the video site supports HTML5 for video playback or they have their own Xbox app. Otherwise, I'd just stick to watching the videos you
want on the computer, tablet, or smartphone.
