MS account has been hacked - cannot get password reset - have tried at least 5 times

Apparently, someone tried to hack the account and failed to get in. MS then asked me to go in and reset the password.

My son has had the same thing happen to him. His account has been hacked in the early hours of the morning and he has woken to a series of changes on his account. His account email address has been changed ( so technically he has no account), passwords reset, family deleted and all his security changed. He cannot use the recover password as the email is no longer valid on the account. We cannot contact customer services either as its all fully automated and there is no option for our situation? Have you managed to get anywhere yet?

My son's account has been hacked too. I'm getting the run around from Microsoft. They help me reset the password only to find out that the hacker has changed my email contact and the phone number associated with the account. I've tried doing the option where
u don't have access to any of these, and it says that I'm not allowed to do that at this time.

tnat is the only way to get your password reset

if you used randomized info then no it will be next to impossible

next time use REAL info or least keep it upto date

the MS accounts team are the only one who can reset the password and you do need to validate who you are

Ok so you reset the password; more thsn likely; i can safely assume one you know and use.

once you reinput thr password it no longer works correct?

So if I understand correctly the new “reset” passpord does not work.

Let me check a standard question of the checklist...have you tried to reset the passpord again? If so does it conform to MS password safety protocol? Is 2FA enables ad well?
