MP4 on DVD-R playback

Discus and support MP4 on DVD-R playback in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have a DVD-R that is burned as a data disc with MP4's on it. Is there a way to play this back on my XBOX One?     MP4 on DVD-R playback


    I have a DVD-R that is burned as a data disc with MP4's on it. Is there a way to play this back on my XBOX One? I have tried through the media player and VLC and haven't gotten any luck. Any suggestions?

    Hello Robin!

    Thanks for bringing this inquiry to our attention here on the forums. I recommend you look in the store and search Audio CD Player App. This app will play audio CD's for music but I'm not 100% certain it would play all file formats such as MP4 but it is
    definitely worth a try. Let us know with a reply how it goes.

    I would suggest if your console can't read the disc to put said content on to a USB Flash drive. The Xbox One can read this.

    Are Homemade DVD + R discs supported with the Xbox One?

    Pretty much any retail DVD player will support DVD+R, the problem is that you would need to convert those MP4 files to DVD format VOB files. There are lots of program's that will do the conversion for you, some free and some not.

    This isn't really the best place to be discussing DVD authoring though, a quick search on the internet will soon find you lots of good information.

    Convert mp4 to DVD is a good search option.
