Moving Xbox account from old child email to new existing email

I do believe you have to log into your microsoft acount on a browser. Go to your account settings and you should find associated emails with the account. You add your new email and make it your primary then delete your old one. I had this same problem
when i wanted to create my new emails. If you are still confused let me know and i will walk myself back through the steps to better explain it

if it can not be done.

It would be small changes to add such a feature and it must be many many situations when this functionality is needed, it
MUST already exist.

I chatted to MS Xbox support.

This is how to do it:

1 create a new adult account and make it administrator of the family

2 create new email address using non-micrsoft (that is not @live, hotmail, outlook.com, instead use yahoo or gmail or similar)

3 add the new email as alternative log in to the adult account you want to make into a child account

4 remove the old email from the adult account you want to make into a child account (only works if this is also a non-micrsoft email, otherwise all microsoft email etc. will be removed from that account as far as I understand)

5 change the age of the new email account (that is your old adult account)

Then I think you can add the old email as family administrator again.

Unfortunately you cannot unlink accounts - what is recommended here is to make a third "dummy" account, and use it to move your profile as follows:

"Old" Email

"New" Email

"Dummy" Email.

Move your gamertag from "New" Email to "Dummy" Email. Then move your gamertag from "Old" Email to "New" Email. At this point you can then just trash Dummy email, and your new email will have your old gamertag

If you have an existing Email that is already a Microsoft Account, you can't use that.

If you wanted to create a new Email anyways, you could use the alias website to create a new email and use that as a sign in alias. Or you could use a third party email like Gmail or Yahoo or your own Domain email for a new sign in alias.

Alternatively, if it's just about the spam issue:

Simply create an alias on your existing account. Then make a filter so that every mail that is sent to the old email is automatically moved to the trash. And only use mail that comes to your newly created email alias on your existing account.

That way you don't have to delete your old account, and use the new email.

Additionally, you can still use your old email as a spam trap or to use it as a throwaway email for entering in giveaways or something like that.

Well, no, because the Xbox account didn't exist until I made it. I could have used this email as the alias for my old account had I not mistakenly signed up for a new Xbox account with it. I made the Xbox account, so why can't I delete it from existence, and then use this email as the alias for my old Xbox account?
