    I have a Microsoft account which I use for everything, but I accidentally set up a new gamertag on it, this gamertag is unused I would ideally like to delete it.

    My actual gamertag is connected to a Microsoft account which I don't use.

    How can I transfer my actual gamertag to my actual Microsoft account.

    surely you can delete a gamertag without deleting the whole microsoft account which I need, and then transfer the gamertag across, in this digital age?!

    1.Consider the following scenario:

    ◦Gamertag A is linked to Microsoft account 1. ◦Gamertag B is linked to Microsoft account 2.

    In this scenario, your gamertag is Gamertag B, and you want to move it to Microsoft account 1.

    2.At accounts.live.com, create a new Microsoft account. You'll only need this account as a temporary means of moving your gamertags.

    Example: ◦Gamertag A is linked to Microsoft account 1.

    ◦Gamertag B is linked to Microsoft account 2.

    ◦Microsoft account 3 is free.

    3.Switch the gamertag that's linked to the Microsoft account you want to use to the Microsoft account that you created in Step 3.

    this is what i have found what to do. but no switch gamertag button only change and when i try to change it says allready used.

    How do I delete the gamertag Microsoft have given me?

    Hi there,

    the only way to achieve that is to move that 'generated' Gamertag to a different Microsoft Account.

    In steps:

    1. download that 'generated' Gamertag to the xbox console

    2. wait 30 days (A profile can only be moved to a different Microsoft account when it has been for 30 days on a console)

    3. move the 'generated' Gamertag to a different Microsoft account

    4. move your gamerprofile to the just freed up Microsoft Account

    Account tied to old email...and more issues

    Because the e-mail that you wish to use is currently associated with another gamertag, you may wish to use the steps found here:

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

    This guide will explain to you how to move the account from the e-mail you want to use and then move the account you want to use to that e-mail.
