  1. Mouse smooting/enhance pointer precision option for USB mice

I can disable mouse smoothing on my mouse's software on my pc and even in some game settings like Warzone, but no matter what I do, mouse smoothing is still on no matter what and i hate it. My mouse is one of those with built in memory so u can change settings like DPI and they'll save when your switching between different devices. This includes enhance pointer precision. But no matter what I do, Xbox's OS just completely overrides this setting and its so annoying. Could they possibly add this setting in the future? It shouldn't be too hard right? I think lots of people will benefit from being able to turn this off as it completely ruins aim and muscle memory.

Hello dear Gamer, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

    My name is Vinicius.

I am a gamer and independent advisor on the XBOX community platform.

Hey sting_ayush, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    sting_ayush, try this:

Click the Start button and then click the Settings icon, which is shaped like a gear.

Click "Devices" and then, in the pane on the left, click "Mouse."

    Click "Additional mouse options."

In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click "Pointer Options" to switch to the Pointer Options tab.

Clear or uncheck the "Enhance pointer precision" checkbox.

Click OK to close the dialog box. And then, restart your PC. :)

    Hope it helps.

    gaming keyboard and mouse

    Hey, you sure can!

    There's a catch:

Wired USB mice will work only in select games and apps that have enabled mouse navigation. Check your games to see if they offer mouse input.

    For Setup:

Configure your mouse in Settings > Kinect & devices. There are options for pointer speed and swapping primary and secondary
    mouse buttons.

Does Microsoft Edge via Xbox One console have mouse support?

    Hi Davey,

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Forums!

We understand this can be frustrating since the Mouse is not recognized when trying to maneuver Microsoft Edge on
the Xbox One. We have heard there are issues with using the mouse on Microsoft Edge but the keyboard works. We are gathering information on this issue.

Note: Wired USB mice will work only
in select games and apps that have enabled mouse navigation. Check your games to see if they offer mouse input.
    Try to
    configure your mouse
in Settings > Kinect & devices. There are options
for pointer speed and swapping primary and secondary mouse buttons.

I hope this helps. Thank you

Why am I experiencing extreme frame drops and mouse lag when using 4k or 8k polling rate.

Hello and thanks for getting in touch. I'm Aileen, and I'm here to provide you advice as an Independent Advisor. Please be reminded that I cannot access or modify your account because this is a public forum.

That definitely sounds frustrating. You’ve got a high-end system that ran 4K or 8K polling rates just fine on Windows 10, but after upgrading to Windows 11, you're seeing serious frame drops and mouse lag—dropping from 190 FPS to 120 and getting choppy input unless you lower to 1K polling. You’ve even tested multiple mice, so we can rule that out. Let’s go over what’s likely going on and what you can try.

Why this happens on Windows 11. Windows 11 introduced changes to how it handles high-frequency polling devices, especially with newer input stack features and background process handling. While your hardware may not be the issue, the OS scheduling or USB controller driver may not be optimized for 4K/8K polling.

Some users also report USB controller bottlenecks with high polling + gaming loads, especially on certain chipsets.

    What you can try:

    1. Set your system to Ultimate or High Performance

Open Settings > System > Power & battery > Power mode

    Choose Best performance

Or enable the hidden Ultimate Performance plan via PowerShell:

    powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61

Then go to Control Panel > Power Options and set it to Ultimate Performance

This reduces background throttling that affects mouse polling.

    2. Update USB and chipset drivers manually (not through Device Manager). Head to your motherboard manufacturer’s website and download:

    Latest USB drivers

    Latest chipset drivers

(Optional but helpful) Latest BIOS update. Windows 11 may have used generic drivers during the upgrade.

    3. Disable "Enhance Pointer Precision" and other smoothing features.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse > Additional mouse settings

Under the Pointer Options tab, uncheck Enhance pointer precision

This avoids OS-level smoothing that can conflict with higher polling rates.

    4. Switch USB ports. Plug the mouse directly into a rear I/O USB 3.0 or 3.2 port on your motherboard. Avoid front panel or USB hubs—some ports can’t handle high polling reliably under Windows 11.

    5. Optional (if nothing else works): Roll back to Windows 10. You said you had no issues before the update. If the 4K/8K experience is critical to you and none of the above helps, reverting to Windows 10 might be worth considering—especially while Windows 11 continues maturing its high polling rate input handling.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Looking forward to your response.
