Mouse side buttons

I am very sorry for the problem you are going through, with the intention of being able to help you I did an internal search on the Microsoft forum and found a publication by Ulises F., an independent advisor, who suggests the following:

Try a console cache wipe by following these steps:

1. Delete your account from the console

2. Press and hold the power button on the console until the Xbox turns off completely.

3. When the lights on the front panel of the Xbox go off, disconnect the power cable from the back.

4. Wait at least 30 seconds.

5. Reconnect your Xbox console and turn it on.

6. Re-enter your account and test if the error persists.

Minecraft has support for side buttons and keyboard mouse they worked for me in past.

Now they don't in Minecraft, with any mouse with buttons.an update they must of deleted side button options.

Which means it Minecraft error not my Xbox or mouse.

Since Minecraft is owned by Microsoft I thought they'd help here.

I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

- Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

- Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

- Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

- Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

- Select Reset console.

- Choose Keep Games and Apps

Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.

If that doesn't work, then unfortunately the issue is with the mouse itself.

So, there's a /third/ app to use... also, it did finally let me set a keybind-but it only detects the keyboard and not the mouse. I like to use a mouse button on the side of my mouse, since it's easy to press & no games tend to use them. Guess this app can't detect mouse buttons, though. Oh well, at least I have a button to press now. I'll give you a half-thanks.
