mouse not picking up pieces

hi, have a dell laptop and cant get the mouse to pick up the jigsaw pices. any suggestions on how to correct this/

new winter set does not control correctly with the mouse very erratic

does anyone know how to fix the mouse control for the puzzle pieces, I have change mice batteries and mouse pads, restarted several time and no luck, it works for a few pieces then the puzzle move all over and the pointer will not pick up a puzzle piece
very frustrating help please

 

Animated Ad interferes with mouse operation

I have been having problems with the mouse since an update to the Microsoft Jigsaw app was posted several months ago. The problem is this: When I grab a piece(s) to move, the mouse does not always release the piece(s) when I release the mouse button.
As a result the piece could end up anywhere on the board. It is very frustrating to have to locate the piece and move it again.

In just the last few days that I have observed a direct correlation of this problem with animation in advertising in the lower right corner of the screen. As long as the ad window is stable (no motion), the mouse works fine. However, any animation in the
ad window and mouse operation is unpredictable.

This is not preventing me from playing the game. I play every day and complete an average of one puzzle (most difficult) per day. Since Windows graciously arrived free of charge, I have completed hundreds of puzzles.
