Mouse disconnects while in Party Chat on PC

Thank you for contacting the Xbox Support forums. I understand that your mouse is disconnecting only when you attempt to join your friends in party chat on PC. Before attempting to assist, can you please let me know if you're using a USB mouse or a wireless mouse? Are you seeing a similar issue with your keyboard?

Thank you for your response. By chance, do you recall if this has started happening after a recent Windows or Minecraft update?

While I wait for your response for the question above, please see below for a couple of troubleshooting suggestions.

Suggestion One: Before trying anything, ensure that all of your software and drivers are up-to-date for Windows. I understand that you have already attempted to update your audio drivers, but please visit How to get software and driver updates for Windows devices for steps on how to check everything else.

Suggestion Two: Try to disable any third-party programs you are using on your PC and perform a clean boot. To do this, you may follow the steps found at How to perform a clean boot in Windows. It will mention that the latest version this supports is Windows 10, but the process works the same.

Once you have attempted both suggestions above, feel free to respond back to this thread. If the error continues, please let me know if this has started after a recent Windows/Minecraft update, if this error occurs in any other game title, and if you happen to be receiving any error codes if the Game Bar happens to time out.

I am using a wired rgb mouse plugged into a usb 3.0 powered hub. I have not noticed my keyboard doing the same, but I really only use my mouse when playing minecraft.

The Xbox One controller can not move the mouse, at least not on it's own. To move the mouse - or emulate the mouse - would require third party software. As for games, it depends on the game. While many PC games support the Xbox One controller from the
get go, some games need to be configured to use the controller.

What game are you trying to use with the controller?

This has been happening to me for a solid month now. I'm on Windows 11, trying to use the Xbox Game Bar to join a party with friends while we play Destiny 2. I keep getting disconnected from the party, but there's absolutely no alert that there's an issue. In fact, the overlay still shows me and everyone else in the party, but my name is the only one lighting up when I speak.

It used to happen maybe 50% of the time. In the past two weeks, it now happens EVERY time I'm in a party chat while running PC. This is infuriating.
