Mouse and Keyboard makes controllers obsolete

The angle precision mouse and keyboards have make controllers inferior to FPS such as Counter Strike, Rainbow Six Siege, COD, and Battlefield. I find there is no competition with keyboard and mouse when you have a controller. To have a mouse and keyboard
and that much precision on a game that requires you to be precise definitely has unfair advantages. When you have an xbox elite controller and people with mouses and keyboards are doing 360s to kill you i think that says something. Controllers are going to
become obsolete in this kind of setting. Not what i imagined when buying the xbox elite controller if that was the case i wouldve gotten a mouse and keyboard for sure but i didnt get an xbox just so i can competition with a mouse and keyboard. So now whats
to stop players from moving to PC?

mouse and keyboard would defently make me buy the Xbox One , FPS and controllers are two different things

Microsoft I would stop manufacturing Xbox controllers now if nothing is going to be done and using a keyboard and mouse on Xbox. It is a big disadvantage for someone that bought your elite controller( or any controller in this matter) when someone can just
insert a keyboard and mouse to Xbox and play. Eventually there will be no use for a controller and will be obsolete. Do something about it or people will eventually catch on and won’t bother with the products.

Now perhaps more disabled people can finally use the console for something other than Netflix. Controllers will alway be slow input devices, however the do have 1 advantage. Aim assist.

 

I don't think it will kill the controller, I know many PC gamers that use control pads of some discription. I'll make a more reasoned assessment once I have had the chance to use one, as to whether they give an advantage or not. You can read about the offical

Players using a controller will not be put into games with players using a keyboard/mouse & vice versa unless they choose to.

Other than RTS games I can't stand using a keyboard/mouse to play games with,much prefer a controller.

 

What's to stop players from moving to PC?

Xbox offers simplicity. We play games for fun, not to worry about precision down to the 20th power or something. I've played on Xbox 360 and Xbox One and the controls on a controller are more than adequate. Why strive for perfection. Also consoles are cheaper
with gaming than a gaming PC. The average laptop school and uni students use struggles to play games as well as Xbox One or higher end games on PC, cause those sorts of laptops only have like dual core CPU's and Intel graphics and 8GB or so RAM. Mac is guilty
of this and so is HP etc. And the prices they charge makes it more better to go for custom PC desktop builds which can be pricey but every PC part is customized to suit the consumer better. PC gets viruses and infections. And with the state of the internet
infrastructure, it's easy to get infections etc, and you don't have to do naughty things to get a virus. That's why people may get internet security software and since Windows 10 only has like a 92% detection rate which is not good enough. I use paid version
of AVG and it's great. However Xbox, it doesn't get viruses and genuine reports of such on genuine Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles, are negligible. Plus who wants to press A, Y, F2, Shift+Ctrl+B, etc.... when a controller is much more simpler. Also, there's
no system requirements (minimum/recommended) for Xbox, unlike PC.

As for the Elite controller, it is far too expensive. It is overpriced and it's just made out of cheap plastic anyways with a few so called fancy gadgets. Microsoft only gives a 90 day warranty on it, however this is extended to
12 months for UK/NZ/Australian citizens due to their countries legislative rights which offers guarantees which cannot be excluded by any contract. I've seen people go out of their way to come onto these forums and complain about rubber grips coming off the
controller only like 1-2 months from buying the controller.

Many console people may also despise PC too. And that relates to keyboard and mouse too. You need a flat surface to use a mouse, and that's an inconvenience where as a controller is wireless and no flat surface required. Such people also may not have to
push all these A, U, F5, Ctr+Shft+....., and PageUp and Space and argh.... Besides, if you want THAT level of gaming, you really should be on PC.

 

If controllers became obsolete I would quit gaming. I do not like using a keyboard and mouse.

Luckily this will never happen.
