Most games keep crashing.

We understand you are having issues with the games on your PC keeps crashing especially Fortnite. We appreciate you trying some troubleshooting steps ahead. No worries, we will do my best to help you sort this out for you to get back to gaming.

We can try some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue however if the issue persists, we may need you to reach Windows PC Support for further assistance especially that most of your games were affected.

Here are a few things we can try to troubleshoot this problem:

1. Make sure that your Windows is up to date and that you have the latest version of the Xbox app installed.

• You can check for updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. You can also download the latest Xbox app from the Microsoft Store.
  

2. Please run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair any corrupted system files that may be causing the crashes.

• To do this, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type the following command: sfc /scannow. Wait for the scan to complete and then restart your PC.
  

3. Please check if there are any compatibility issues between your games and your PC hardware or software.

• You can do this by right-clicking on the game icon, selecting Properties, and then going to the Compatibility tab. There, you can try different compatibility modes or settings and see if they make any difference.
  

4. Update GPU Driver: Outdated or faulty graphics drivers tend to be a potential contributor to game crashes.

5. Stop Overclocking: Overclocking your CPU or GPU can lead to improved performance in games, but it can also introduce instability and cause game crashes.

6. Update DirectX Runtime Libraries and Install/Repair Visual C++ Redistributables: DirectX 12-related issues are common causes for Fortnite crashes.

I've already done sfc /scannow, changed compatibility modes, updated my GPU Drivers (and reinstalled with ddu), stopped overcloking, and updated my redistributables. Windows is currently at its latest version. I don't have the Xbox app installed, so I'll install that. Will update you on its status.

Did that, didn't fix it. What did fix it though was disabling core performance boost in my BIOS.
