But that's plain wrong. We're not talking about pancakes here. A 'flop' when talking about games is basically the same as a box office flop or 'bomb'. Something which makes much less than projected. More often than not its costs will be more than its revenue.
Deus Ex most definitely didn't bomb.

If you are going to talk about a general majority then the general majority did not like Uncharted 2, Gears of War 3 and Halo Reach because less than half of the installed playerbase bought a copy of either game. But that doesn't make them flops. Daikatana
was a flop. Battlefield Earth and Waterworld were flops. Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, another flop. None of the Deus Ex games, even the disappointing 'Invisible War', are flops by any definition of the term.

If you look at just about any games sale figures they will fall rapidly after a particular point. To bring up the movie analogy once again, look at Deathly Hallows 2. Biggest box office success in recent memory but the figures dipped hugely after the opening
week.

Other than things like the walking dead series most licensed games tend to flop. Seems more games are getting made into films now !

I believe that if they don't satisfactially address/repair the issues that consumers (and apparently the German government) are concerned about, the XBone will be a more abyssmal flop than the Nintendo Virtual Boy.

standalone kinect would flop harder than wii u. Just another product that no one cares about, so they must bundle it to save it from flopping.
