I will buy this regardless, but my hopes would be it's an Xbox One game that has its own multiplayer of the original with no tweaks, just the classic style.

It would make sense to release an anniversary edition of Halo 2 as the game was a beachhead to Microsoft's Xbox live success. Yes there were other multiplayer games but Halo 2 revolutionized it as everybody that could at the time wanted to play Halo 2 on
Xbox live. Heck I wanted to play Halo 2 matchmaking on Xbox Live even though Broadband wasn't even available were I was in the world and dial up was king. I reckon they should bring an anniversary edition to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.

  3. Digi I am the same. When they remake theres certain things you just don't touch and devs just seem to touch them anyways :/ lol.

  5. I don't doubt at some point they will bundle them all together in one package but I think it will likely be a next gen release. I may be wrong but when next gen games start filling up the library, they will feel more comfortable porting games over. My impression
is that its not happening yet because it would just make it look like a port-console. When / if that happens, I imagine Halo anniversary 1 + 2, Halo 3 and 4 will all be ported over. It would be a sure seller I think.

I just gotta say, it would make sense that, while Halo 5: Guardians would only be available on Xbox One, it would be nice if they made Halo 2 Anniversary for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Not necessarily the entire Master Chief Collection, just Halo 2 Anniversary
released as a separate title for the Xbox 360. I'm having some difficulty trying to get my original copy of Halo 2 working on my Xbox 360. Apparently the hard drive I bought lacked the second partition needed for the emulator. I'm still trying, at least so
I can play the campaign, but if it still refuses to work for me, I hope and pray that Halo 2 Anniversary is ported out for Xbox 360. Luckily, for the time being, I can play Halo 2 Vista on my PC, but not with friends. Let's hope 343 Industries changes their
    mind. 720p isn't too bad.

They won't. The whole point of the collection is for it to be only on X1, they won't remaster Halo 2 for the collection and then for 360. Too much time and money spent.

TMCC is Xbox One only. This release is one of the first (if not the first) major releases to be Xbox One only. For a few good reasons, but mostly money. I remember when Halo 3 came out and was not offered for the original Xbox I was miffed but I got over
    it.

It is about the money, there's no doubt about that... although I'm not 100% convinced it's 'mostly' about money. It's very much about progress as well.

People who have current gen systems WANT their games to do more... we want the most out of our games and that means getting the most from our consoles. If they keep making games
for both consoles, then they either have to work within the limitations of the weaker, or they have to develop 2 completely different games so that one can work on the old console and one can work on the newer one. In which case, the older console will be
utilizing everything they can get from the hardware, while the newer one won't even be getting close.

I'm very glad to hear that Guardians is only going to be on X1. It would have suffered otherwise... it would not have been what it could be and when it comes to Halo, I want the
full experience that the X1 can deliver, not the compromise that would have to be made in order to make it work on both.

Making TMCC an X1 only title is the first step in the transition from Xbox 360 to X1. They (possibly) may not play as well on the 360, nor will the graphics update happen for Halo
2, but they are all playable (except H2 MP) on the 360 still. It's time for some MC action on the X1. It's time for the transition from Xbox 360 to X1 to begin. It doesn't have to happen overnight, but it still has to happen. Otherwise there will an endless
cycle of people wanting the newest games (or even games like TMCC) on the 360 and mad if it doesn't happen. This will do nothing but hinder development for the X1.

A bone may be thrown... it, however, will not be a big bone... just big enough not to choke but certainly not small enough to be gnawed away and swallowed right away. Something like Halo 2 Anniversary Edition only w/ MP for a limited time but not the whole
MCC. TMCC is meant to drive people to buy an X1 (period). You want more new MC... you gotta buy a One. So when they release H5 you will have already played the beta and played the entire series on your One which I will be doing. Buy a One.

So glad H2 is confirmed!!!! Hopefully 343 will learn a little something about true MM gameplay and how to keep a game #1 for years on end.

The glory days of MM were MW2/H3. They both had huge populations at ALL TIMES. CoD has kept that reputation intact. Why? Because of the DIFFERENCES in the games. I've played several thousand games of both so I feel I can make the following statement fairly.
Grasp Halo, not CoD for the next Halo title. There's already a game like Halo Reach and H4, it's called CoD. That's why CoD's population has stayed well into the hundreds of thousands of gamers consistently while H4 has dropped to LESS THAN 50k and that's
    during peak gaming times.

Personally, I enjoyed the differences in the games. The past population numbers show that the players enjoyed the differences in the games.

343, numbers don't lie. Keep Halo Halo and let CoD be CoD. I highly suspect the re release of H2 will prove me out as well.

  14. Am I correct in thinking they said that the MP will be game specific? ie Halo 2 MP will play just like H2 MP did, as will Halo 3 and 4? If so, 343 could learn a lot about what they can do with Halo 5's MP by simply monitoring the most played games and game
    types in TMCC.
