Money stuck on Xbox live account linked to gmail

So I have 15$ stuck on an Xbox live account that uses a Gmail account and I can’t get my money back. I can’t change the email linked to the account, because it won’t recognize the gmail account as a hotmail account. The fact that I used a gmail account has
other restrictions: I can’t but things download things and do anything else that requires password verification. This is my main Xbox account and I have all my progress on it.

Switching email associated with Xbox live account to a non windows live email

I was wondering if it is possible to have my Xbox live account linked to my gmail. I currently have my live linked to my old hotmail, but it is sending out horrible amounts of spam. I want to delete my hotmail account and just set up my live to my gmail,
but I haven't seen any possible ways to do this. Can someone please help me?\

Confused?

Hi I was in the process of switching my email from hotmail to gmail and so I went to create a new windows live id which I chose to make with my new gmail account. However after that was done I was trying to log into my old xbox live account from my past
email and it got me to create a new xbox live profile on my gmail account which I think was a mistake on my part and now how do i go about taking my other gamertag that is stuck on my old windows live email and switiching it over to my gmail one? Thanks.

What you'll need to do is actually link your GMail account to Windows Live first, by signing up your gmail account to Windows Live. Go here:
account.live.com/signup.aspx Enter your gmail address and create a password, create a security question (and please for the love of all that is good, don't put pizza. Actually make it something
secure and not easily guessed while also something you will always know). Once that is created, then use the following link for the steps on how to change the Windows Live ID on your Xbox account to the Gmail Account:

Well the thing is that I have 1 hotmail accout, one gmail and one yahoo. The yahoo one is disabled and it sends the verification email on that one. Although I was 99% sure that the gmail account was the one linked to my xbox live.

Oh okay! So it was just a local account on the Xbox? When connecting it to Xbox Live, you should still be able to use a Gmail address for the account. If anything, just use a temporary Live email and then go to the link mentioned in my previous post to adjust
it to the Gmail account. I see that the post was marked as "Verified Answer", did you still have questions or were you able to get it set up?

if you are trying to enter a gmail account into as your windows live id you need to first register the gmail account as a windows live id at login.live.com

create new account then use existing email and then it converts the gmail account into a windows live id
