Modern Warfare 2 (2022) does not work on my Xbox series S please HELP ME

I just got a brand new Xbox series S and also bought MW2 Cross Gen edition but i have not been able to play a single game due to the game freezing every time I get into a match about 30 seconds in My Xbox does not freeze and i just have to quit the game but i have tried everything from clearing mac address to restarting the game, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, factory resetting the Xbox, using wired 5G internet, also tried it using wireless internet, tried turning the graphics settings all the way down, Resetting my controller, but nothing seems to work It won't let play even a private match with bots or play warzone without having this issue and its not a dev error it does not kick me out or give me an error code it just freezes and i have to quit the game I don't have this problem with Any other games I'm so disappointed because I ordered the game code from best buy and can't get a refund even though the game is completely unplayable someone please help I really want be able to play TY

Sorry to hear about the issue. This is clearly not the situation I want you to be in. Let's see what we can do about that here.

To me, it seems to be a game stability or performance issue. It may need an optimization from the game dev because your other games work fine and you even mostly tried all the proven roubleshooting steps to fix any in-game issue.

To further isolate it, try to use a different Xbox profile. Don't forget to also perform a power cycle. Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

Try to clear the game's data as well.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide and then select My games & apps > See all > Games.
Highlight the game title, and then press the Menu button on your controller.
Select Manage game and add-ons > Saved data.
Select Delete all to remove the local save of this game, then follow the prompts.
After you delete the local save, restart your Xbox:
Press and hold the Xbox button in the centre of your controller.
Select Restart console, then follow the prompts.
***If deleting it locally won't fix it, try to clear its cloud save instead as a last resort. That would mean to start the game from scratch.

Just to confirm, which Modern Warfare title is this affecting? Modern Warfare (2019), Modern Warfare 2 (2022), or Modern Warfare 3 (2023)?

If you are playing the Xbox 360 2009 version of Modern Warfare 2, then no, you cannot change it, as the game is a 360 game, and so uses the 360 infrastructure.

If it's the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S 2022 version, then changing your Xbox gamerpic on your profile might change it for you on the game. Or you might have to change it via the Activision site.
