Missing Kids Account

Hi guys, I recently did a hard reset on our xbox one as no other resets would let it fire up.

After doing so my account came up and I could log in but my sons account was gone.

Not sure how to get it back, I don't think it was tied to a email as its like a guest account off of my main one.

Any idea where to start? The online xbox support just takes you in circles and never puts you onto a live chat.

There isn’t a family subscription to Game Pass at the moment, but you can utilise the ‘Home Console’ option where you designate a console for everyone to use (so you don’t need to be signed in) and then you (as the game or subscription owner) can use any console you choose. Even at the same time.

Thanks guys, turns out he did have a email that I forgot he had. Didnt realise his gamertag was linked to his own email and he just shares my games pass.

While were on the gamepass thing, is there a family pass so we can all play at once. I have 2 pc's, a series x and xbox one. Would stop some arguements. Cheers

Did your son have his own gamertag? If so, he would have had his own account, so you just need to add his profile to the system.

If you can find out the details of his account, here is how you add him back to the console:

Guest profiles are temporary and would be lost, but it doesn't sound like this is the case.

Are your kids' profiles stored online on Xbox Live, or were these offline Gamertags that were only stored on the console?

If there really is a storage device faulty as WPAK suspects, then I'm afraid your kids have lost their progress

May I recommend getting an USB drive for each kid, that they use as storage device on the console to store their accounts? Also make the kids' accounts an online account, so their Gamerscore and Accounts are also safely backed up in the Xbox Live service.
