Missing friend on friends list

Hello,

I am relatively new and have not played xbox in a long time. I recently aquired an xbox as well as my brother. I purchased a used 360 and he bought an xbox one.

We set up our boxes, accounts, and purchased gold subscriptions. We are friends according to the app, website, and on the consoles. The problem is i cannot see him on my friendslist to invite to a game. I try to invite him to a party and he cannot join
the party. He can see me on his console but i cannot. I have troubleshooted all i could with box updates, network troubleshooting, settings preferences but no resolution. We purchased these for our families to play together and need answers on how we can fix
our issues. Any help will be appreciated. Current game we are playing is fully updated halo reach if that helps.

That may be and i will check that when i get home but, would it make any difference that i can see my other friends whether they are offline or online. Also i do not even see his avatar in my friends list.

Solved. He said he had to go i to a 360 guide somewhere and accept my friend request. That fixed it. Sorry we are both noobs.

That sounds very plausible i will give that a try.

Friends are different on the 360 versus the One. The 360 uses a friend system, so you typically send a friend request to another person and they have to accept that request to become your friend. The One uses a follower system. So you can choose to follow
someone, but they don't have to follow you back.

You may want to send your brother a friend request from the 360 and have him sign into the 360 to accept it.
