    Minecraft Xbox One Edition - MC Live "better together" update stopped working


    I have owned my Minecraft special edition xbox one for over a year (which came with Minecraft game for Xbox One and Windows 10). I installed the Minecraft "Better Together" updated when it came out in September 2017 and it worked great until about 2 weeks
    ago, now it doesn't work at all. Every time I start Minecraft Live it crashes. This issue occurs only with the Minecraft Live game and doesn't occur in the Minecraft Xbox one edition game (which is separate). I have called support and went through a hour of
    trouble-shooting and reinstalled the game - still no fix. I believe the issue is with the latest Xbox console updates, however unlike computer software updates I do not have access to see updates or reinstall individual updates on console. Why are updates
    hidden and not accessible on my console? A game not working for a month is inexcusable and I know Xbox could have fixed this for me weeks ago.

    a promotion in which if certain criteria was met, owners of the Xbox One Edition would receive a digital copy of the Better Together Minecraft. This is no longer valid, but we still have an article with the details of the offer at Minecraft

    Hi Dylan,

    Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. If the version of Minecraft you're using on disc is the Minecraft: Xbox One edition, then to update to the new Minecraft (Better Together), you'll need to purchase the game as it is a wholly different version.
    The free update from Minecraft: Xbox One edition to the new Minecraft edition (Better Together) ended on January 30th 2018.

    "Minecraft: Xbox One Edition" has been replaced with "Minecraft" after the Better Together update, which receives the Aquatic update. Other console specific editions are also not getting that update.

    To play Minecraft: Xbox One Edition from a disc, you’ll need to install it while in offline mode on your Xbox One. Once the installation is complete, launch the game before connecting to Xbox Live again.
    You’ll be able to play Minecraft: Xbox One Edition from that disc going forward, whether you are online or offline.
