Minecraft Xbox One Download - online multiplayer problems

Frustrated parent here....downloaded Minecraft Xbox one edition last night for my two boys. In their privacy / online settings they have multiplayer enabled but when trying to create an online game it states they do not have multiplayer permission. Any thoughts
from anyone or anyone experiencing the same problem? They can play other games online, there's just an issue with this one.

minecraft multiplayer game on live

Having problems trying to play minecraft for xbox live multiplayer. Keeping getting this message:failed to create an online game as one or more players is not allowed to play multiplayer game on Xbox live. The person that I'm trying to play with always
plays multiplayer. we are connected with the correct cable on a HD TV. I did try changing the parental controls to adult. What am I doing wrong?

We are having the same problem here. All settings set to allow, but an error is displayed. I wish support would jump in and help us out here. My daughter (and I) are very frustrated!

The only advice I can give at this point would be to troubleshoot their settings. Give them every permission just to see if that is the problem so you can eliminate it. If it is then you can work backwards restricting their permissions and checking if the
game still works as you go.

Exactly the same problem here. profile is set to teen, allowed to play online multiplayer but when he tries to play online Minecraft Xbox One Edition he gets an Xbox notification saying he cannot due to his settings.

Because Xbox 360 edition for minecraft is not supported anymore, I think you are only able to play local co-op instead of online multiplayer. I could be wrong though. If minecraft Xbox 360 does support multiplayer co-op, then the problem could be that
your kids have child accounts and their permissions for online multiplayer is turned off. I hope this helps!

My daughter wants to play online multiplayer in Minecraft on Xbox Live. The multiplayer option is greyed-out in the Minecraft settings screen but Xbox privacy settings are on Adult.

What do you mean the settings are "on Adult"?

In order to be able to play Minecraft online multiplayer on the Xbox One or Xbox 360, your daughter needs to check https://account.microsoft.com/services/ if she has an
active Gold membership (or Game Pass Ultimate which includes the Gold membership).

Then, if your daughter's account is a child account according to the birth date entered then the account was created, you as a parent have to go to https://account.xbox.com/settings and
allow her to play online multiplayer.
