Minecraft World Missing, Cant Retrieve

A couple hours ago I was playing Minecraft on my xbox, offline. I chose to play offline on Minecraft since my xbox couldn't connect to the internet. I played in one of my Minecraft worlds for around 1 minute and didn't make any changes, but as I exited the world, the world itself didn't upload and after I hit "save & quit" my world disappeared from the world list.

I tried cleaing the local save data, restarting my Xbox, and re-installing Minecraft. I dont know how else to resolve the issue and I don't know who to get in touch with to aolve the issue.

I am playing on Minecraft Bedrock Edition, the newest version, not on beta version, and I have had that world for around a year. It would mean the world to me if I could somehow retrieve it.

Hello Sabrina, what happened to your world is different from what usually fails saves, usually the console is online, it can not upload the save to the cloud and when you take offline it loads the last save that was in the console.

In your case, unfortunately I do not believe that you will be able to redeem your save because no upload has been uploaded to the Microsoft cloud and it has no way to fetch the save from somewhere.

Yes, world seems to sync but 4 months is missing August -November is missing. Noticed back in November but have never been able To fix or retrieve.

I'd already tried that one-hadn't worked. I have, however, figured out how to fix it now; I had to paste the level.dat and level.dat_old files from a new world into the old one and it fixed it. I'll mark this as solved now, sorry about that

Posting in case someone else has this issue. We found our world.

Although the world was started this year and played this week, we found it at the bottom of saved world list with last save noted as year 2014. We tried loading the 2014 world because the game size seemed similar and we did not have an xbox in 2014, so
it seemed to be an anomaly. It took a long time to load and synch, but otherwise came back fine and is saved with correct date again now.

As part of this investigation we’ve also found that Mojang (on their support page) recommends copying worlds as a backup regularly. Do this by selecting the pen icon next to world name and the copy option is at the bottom of the screen.
