Minecraft with a microsoft account on mac

I cannot log onto minecraft on mac with a microsoft account ever since the new minecraft launcher was out.
can you help fix this?

But my Minecraft launcher is linked to my Microsoft account, and in the past I was able to play Minecraft on my Mac when it was linked to my Microsoft account.

I have the same issue and have reinstalled the launcher several times and still get the message something went wrong in the login process every time I try click on the Microsoft account login

To understand your problem better. Do you get an error message when trying to log in with your account? Have you tried to reinstall the launcher?

The Microsoft store is not supported on mac. If you want to install minecraft on mac go to minecraft.net and download the DMG installer. If you want bedrock edition or to install it through the microsoft store you will need to use bootcamp to install windows. The best way to get it is through the minecraft website.

Although you need a Microsoft account to purchase Minecraft (Java) it is not linked to a Microsoft Family account.

Minecraft Java version only gives you a single user license. As it's not purchased through the Microsoft store, you will not see it in your purchase history.

You are getting this confused for the Bedrock edition, which isn't available for the Mac. If this is the case, I would recommend requesting a refund. The version you have will only be playable through your account.
