Minecraft Windows 10 Free Code Won't Redeem

Hi everyone,

So I've had Minecraft: Java Edition since February 2 in 2013, and I believe that makes me eligible for the free Minecraft for Windows 10 edition. My Mojang account has my gift code listed along with the "redeem" button adjacent to it. However, when I tried
to apply the code in Microsoft's gift code engine, it says "This code has already been redeemed.". I'm 100% positive I haven't activated my MC Windows 10 code because I didn't even know it existed until recently, and in my Microsoft account's order history
nothing is listed anywhere to be seen. The Microsoft store also says I haven't purchased Minecraft for Windows 10, and when I try to redeem my code through the store, it once again says "This code has already been redeemed.".

If anyone has any experience with a problem like this, or has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

It allows for users who have purchased the java edition of the game to then redeem a code for the windows 10 edition of the game.

I had the same issue as them. I contacted customer support and the email I got just repeated the same thing back to me, that I had already redeemed the code. It said it was with "my other account" but I don't have another account, so I'd like that to be
specified. The customer support agent gave me links to "help" pages but all of them had to do with cross platform with Xbox, and that wasn't at all what my issue was. I don't understand how to fix my problem, I have had Minecraft Java since 2013, and it says
I redeemed my code for Windows 10 Edition in 2015, but I know I didn't do that because I didn't know it was an offer until just a few days ago.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for a little more info on what to do when you get this code error.

I can definitely understand how this kind of thing could be puzzling.

If you haven't, then I would say that the best thing for you to do is try contacting
customer support
through the site so that an agent can verify whether or not it was redeemed on another account. If it was though, then neither they nor anyone here can transfer the game to your account.

When you get a chance, reach out to them and let us know if that helped.

But it is Possible he or she can redeem the code already before you get it.

If you have Java Minecraft, sign in with your Mojang Account on the Minecraft Website, and you should get an offer to redeem a code for the Windows 10 Version.

However, it was long ago since I did that, and don't know where exactly you need to go.

After you got your code, you can go to the Windows Store App on your Windows 10 PC and redeem that code in the Store App to get Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.

EDIT: It seems that you need to have purchased the Java Edition before Oct. 19th 2018 to be eligible for getting Minecraft Windows 10 for free.
