Minecraft windows 10/11 download

I’ve been trying to get into contact with a representative for two days now, I just purchased minecraft for my friend so she can play with me and it refuses to download. When asked to install on the minecraft launcher, at first it said she didn’t have enough storage so we deleted a bunch of stuff and we’re finally able to get enough space, now I click install and it just sits there and does nothing. So I instead tried to install via Microsoft store but I come across a circle with a slash through it. I just spent thirty dollars on this game just to not be able to download it or even get help from a real human being just robots. When I called the help line it was just a robot who hung up on me after saying the help line website so I go to the website and I tried everything. The computer is completely up to date. Should I just try a factory reset? I’m getting pretty frustrated someone please help me.

So you purchased Minecraft for Windows, right? Have you tried to install it through the Xbox app too? Please try it and see how it goes.

If you cannot install it from the Xbox app too, please follow the steps below:

- Go to start > Search for PowerShell > Right click > Run as administrator. Type the following command and press enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

- Press Windows + R and type in "regedit". Press enter.

- Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

- Delete the folders "GamingServices", "GamingServices.net" (if they're still there).

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Reset.

- Press Windows + R. Type TEMP and press enter. Delete all the files inside this folder. Repeat this step by typing %TEMP% and Prefetch. Delete everything on both folders too.

- Press Windows + R. Type WSRESET and press enter.

- Delete the cache folder at:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

- Also delete Microsoft Store local cache files at:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe

- Restart your computer. Run Powershell as administrator and run the following commands (one at a time):

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

- Restart your computer one more time. Open the Microsoft store and sign in. Then, open the Xbox app and make sure you are signed in with the same account as the store. Try to install Minecraft for Windows from it and let me know how it goes.

If the issue persists, please tell me if you receive any error code at all and if you are running Windows 10 or 11. I'm waiting for your feedback on this.

For this error code, please try to use the System File Checker and DISM to repair broken, corrupted or missing system files:

Go to Start > Search for Command Prompt > Right Click > Run as Administrator. Run one command at a time:

sfc /scannow

chkdsk /r

chkdsk /f

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

If the error persists, please try to restore your Operational System via the ISO Image Tool. You will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

Download it > Open the ISO image tool > Open setup.exe > Select upgrade > Download from the cloud > Keep games and apps.

Just to let you know: this solution worked for me. I recently had issues installing/running loads of games, including Minecraft, which were all fine a few days ago. Couldn't sign into the xbox app properly (though it still showed my library).

When I got as far as running this command in your instructions: <Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}> I had loads of errors come up, but after the final reboot everything started working again.

I had tried loads of advice off this forum, including editing device manager entries and things, so was starting to lose hope. But now I'm up and running again. Many thanks, Lucas.

Hey Lucas, this is Jada. We just went through every step and it unfortunately still did not work. She has windows 10 and the error code on the Xbox app is 0x00000001

Please go to the Minecraft website and download the Windows 7/8 launcher. Try playing the game using it. The Windows 10 launcher is giving this error for some users.

Make sure you sign in with the correct Microsoft Account used for the Migration.

Also, uninstall the current Windows 10/11 launcher before installing the Windows 7/8 launcher.
