Minecraft using a specific account begins freezing after 5-10 mins of play

Hey All,

My son's minecraft account has been problematic, when playing minecraft on the xbox series x after about 5-10 mins the game will begun to stutter and begin freezing for 5-10 seconds at a time.

We've determined a few things:

1. its just his account as the same issue doesn't persist on my account on the same xbox

2. it has something to do with chunk loading because after a freeze has recovered, as long as we don't move the game will be fine, I believe it freezes around chunk border crossings but lowering render distance doesn't help

3. pressing the xbox button while its frozen will unfreeze the game but will freeze again moments later (i've seen him do this over a dozen times in 1 minute of game play)

4. it only affects xbox, playing on his same account on the PS4 it works without issue

we've tried everything that google and any other help can throw at us:

- quitting and relaunching the game

- reinstalling the game

- deleting all local save data

- deleting all worlds (no major progress lost here as this issue has been around for so long)

- deleting persistent data on the xbox in blu ray settings

- resetting the xbox while keeping data

- powering off the xbox for 5 minutes to clear cache

- altering privacy settings

I'm of the belief there is something wrong with his save state in the cloud because no matter what we do the issue returns every time and its not just on local worlds either, this happens while playing on realms servers.

there is a bug report on Mojang bugs page that perfectly captures the issue but I cant seem to get a jira account working on there to post - MCPE-142692

I get this is a community forum and not official support, I would love to be able to just post in the bugs page but there is a barrier to entry and I've contact xbox support which directed me to Mojang bugs page so I'm in a support loop.

the game in its current state is unplayable and any help would be appreciated.
