    Minecraft Update Loop


    Me and my wife have been trying to play Minecraft together for almost 2 hours now to no avail. She plays on an Xbox One S and I play on an Xbox Series S. I have Minecraft purchased and we are game sharing -- the game sharing is set up correctly and is not causing any issues with any other games. We both have reinstalled and updated Minecraft, but when she launches the game it keeps saying Minecraft needs to update, and so we select update, it goes through the update, and then when she goes to the play menu, the game says "All Realms have been updated. You need to update your game to continue playing Realms." We have updated the game 12 times now, tried restarting and disconnecting the Xbox from power for 30 seconds. It still will not let her join my game or any multiplayer game due to "Outdated client" despite having reinstalled the game and gone through the update multiple times. What gives?

    Edit: It still says v1.17.10 in the bottom corner for her.

    Hello,

    Could you let me know if at any point in this process did both versions have 1.18.2? If the versions are not the same, then you will not be able to play with one another. Are these updates triggering when you start the game, or have you attempted to trigger an update prior to launching the game?

    Hi, RafaRafa6! Thanks for the info. Kindly go into “Settings”

    Choose “Apps"

    Choose “Installed Apps”

    Choose “Gaming Services”

    Click the “…” on the far right of the screen

    Choose “Advanced Options”

    Scroll down to “Repair” and let it run.

    Please also repair/reset the launcher.

    Go to the Start Menu

    Right click on the Minecraft Launcher

    Select ‘More’

    Open ‘App Settings’

    Within these settings, click on ‘Repair’ and ‘Reset.’
