    Minecraft: unable to download the launcher update.


    Minecraft Java won't open. The Minecraft launcher won't update: "Unable to download the launcher update. Launching previous version." When I click OK on this, it tries to download again. Then it stops. We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher, to no avail. Windows 11 Home, version 22H2. Help? Thank you.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    Regarding to your information I assume that you can't update the Minecraft launcher (Java version)

    Did the game run well? If the game also has a problem maybe you can try to reconfigure the JAVA.

    If just the launcher can't update maybe you can try to update it with Microsoft Store

    And you can also try to change the DNS to

    4.2.2.1

    4.2.2.2

    If can't work you can contact Minecraft support for help.
