Minecraft transition from 360 to One.

I previously bought minecraft on the xbox 360, surely then this would carry on to the xbox one. I've already bought the license for it once, why do i need to buy it again? Even if it is on a new platform?

PANdaRUS , I understand your pain , and I hope the transition from the 360 to the one doesn't cause you to lose anything , but I have been without minecraft since I sold my 360 last December , so I'm hoping it's out sooner rather than later .

There is an offer to purchase the game for $5 if you previously purchased it, but there is no deal to have it for free on the One.

The two consoles are considered separate consoles. Since the One is not backwards compatible, you would have to purchase games for the One if you want them on that console even if you have them on the 360. Some publishers do have upgrade offers that will
allow you to upgrade for free or at a discounted price, but not all games have that available.
