I bought minecraft xbox one edition for my friend and she was able to download it, run it, but she couldn't join my world. I am playing on pc, I've tried looking at the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety settings and it didn't help as the settings were already allowed. If I don't get a solution, I'm going to refund the game.

If this error appears on your friend's account she has to adjust the privacy settings of the account, after adjusting, save, clear the console cache and try again

To clear the cache press and hold the console's power button until the console turns off, remove the power cord for 10 seconds, and then turn the console back on.

If you need a refund, this link provides instructions. If the game was purchased digitally as a gift and the code was used there is no way to request a refund.

If your friend's account is set up as a minor, the parent may need to change the account settings.

There is no "multiplayer" option in the privacy settings that I can see... Exactly what setting should be changed?

Sounds as though your friend may need to check their privacy settings to make sure that they don't have multiplayer blocked. They can
sign in with their Microsoft account to review and change their settings online.
