minecraft server says expired but i paid for it and its renewed

With regards to your issue, do you see the realm active in the game or if it is showing 2 realms?

Because based on the Minecraft FAQ page: Whether you are trying to dust off an old Realm or just forgot to extend your time, you may want to renew an expired Realm. Currently it is not possible to add time to an expired Realm. However, the world within the expired Realm is not lost! After you purchase a new subscription and create a new Realm it is possible to move any backups made of the world within the expired Realm to the new Realm.

it tells me to renew the server and it tells me its expired

I paid for the realm 3 days before it randomly became expired. Basically I renewed it, played on it, and 3 days later it expired.

I get that. The point was it wasn't supposed to be auto renewed, it was off so I could let the month expire and get the 12 month card. Now, had I not paid the month then later on attempted to pay the month with the card I could see where your coming from
but that's not the case. It was supposed to expire on 5/20, so on 5/20 I paid with the card expecting it to renew since obviously it wasn't because A)The other card was maxed and B)I expected it to expire because AUTO RENEWAL WAS TURNED OFF.

I would suggest waiting until your current subscription expires before adding the Gold. Even if you don't use the full Ultimate subscription, you'll lose the time you've paid for if you were to cancel now.

If you turn off auto-renewal, it'll automatically cancel your subscription on its expiration date.
