Minecraft PS4 sign in all tangled up

We have been playing Minecraft Playstation4 for years, it has always automatically signed us in.

Now this spring PS4 suddenly told us to sign in with Microsoft account again. We used the QR code, which took us to a page that told us to choose an Xbox gamer tag. We did as was told (although we do not own an Xbox). Now PS Minecr. is telling us to sign in "with the previously connected, (gamertagname)". We do not know how to do that.

Now my microsoft account shows only a connection to that new Xbox gamertag - which now is also the profile that I see when I sign in here in Microsoft help pages and also Minecraft help page.

So somehow the old connection between Minecraft-PS-Microsoft has been lost? And there is now a connection between my microsoft account to minecraft.com to xbox (which we again, do not own).

The Minecraft help quide is saying "are you seeing "sign in with previously connected account - thats good news", but there are no further instructions. So how is that good news and HOW do we sign in?

The Minecraft help center says in their emails that they cannot do anything and keeps sending us here in Microsoft help.

I understand that you are having trouble finding the account associated with your Play Station ID. Here are possible solutions:

If you have access to your Microsoft account email address, you can go to Settings > Account on your Xbox console and select Account Security.Find your Microsoft account email address | Xbox Support

You may see all the apps and services that are connected to your Microsoft Account by logging in, clicking "Privacy" at the top, scrolling down to "Apps & Services," and then clicking the link that says "Apps and services that can access your data." From there, you should search for the particular app or game that is giving you problems. Choose the game link then click "Edit," you can take that permission away from your account. When you run a game in example, Minecraft on the PS4, it should prompt you to re-establish that connection, after which you can add the appropriate account.

If you have access to your PlayStation profile page, you can find your gamertag next to your avatar.

Hello ObsessedLynx,

I know for Nintendo you would have the have the latest update of Minecraft, all you need to do is sign into your Microsoft account after loading up Minecraft and then you will be able to cross play with your Xbox friends via that. So if it now works on PS4,
your friend would have to sign up for a Microsoft account and log into that.

Hpw do you crosspkay minecraft with xbox and ps4?

Well you need to sign up for the ps4 beta progran which requires psn plus and see if its one of the available cross play titles (not all games apply as sony limits it since they control the market atm)
