Minecraft PS4 created new gamertag instead of using my existing one.

Im not sure the exact meaning of the queation, maybe you can rephrase, but if your asking for help on a Playstation 4 this is the wrong website as this is for xbox only. Maybe try sony support?

You probably created a new gamertag instead of signing on with your existing one.


The gamertag creating is faster now as it gives you a random gamertag. You are able to change it for free within 30 days of creating the account.

You're probably trying to create a new account, instead of just downloading your "cloud based" account, that still exists on the Live servers, waiting to be downloaded to your console.

Please read Add / Remove Account on how to download your existing account to your Xbox One again.

In case you really want to start over as if you've never owned an account before (also losing your purchases on the old account), you can't use your Microsoft Account email you used before.

You will have to create a new Microsoft Account along with a new Gamertag.

Create another gamertag on your xbox one and try to go online with that. You can use your existing gold membership with the new gamertag. If you can then that likely means your main gamertag is banned.

I think they were originally created on/for a 360 but we have upgraded since they were made. Is there a way I can connect the existing gamertag with the email account I have for my son, or is it going to want me to create a new gamertag entirely? I thought I found a way to link them but when I entered the email it asked for a new gamertag, and wouldn't accept the existing one.
