Minecraft PS4 bedrock auto-assigned profile not the one I want to use for my Microsoft Account

Hello,

I have an Xbox Gamertag I've had for years and continue to use. I also purchased a new laptop which came with Windows 10, where I created a new profile. I would like to link that gamertag to my profile. I also have a PS4, which was updated to Bedrock edition
today.

When I attempted to play Minecraft, It asked me to link my Microsoft account to the PS4 account. Unfortunately this appears to have assigned a brand new gamertag to my profile without my input on which gamertag, nor with an option to link those profiles.

What options do I have to remove the non-real gamertag from my Microsoft account and link my actual gamertag to it?

sorry to say but you cant merge Microsoft accounts

You can unhook and re-link your account from within minecraft. That might help with the name change. I assume you changed the account name once for free?

Unfortunately you can't just sign out and then sign it back in with another account. It just gives a dialogue saying that the account is already linked(even though it's signed out/unlinked) and then you can't play multiplayer permanently because you're
locked out of being able to sign in after that.
