    Minecraft PE - can’t connect to world


    We are all using iOS, all on the same internet, all have our xbox live settings to Allow, and all are on the same version (v 1.16.50). Up until about week ago we never had issues joining each other worlds (every once in awhile but we’d close out of MCPE
    all the way, got back in and then it was fine). We have a friend that comes over and once she is on our wifi she usually joins in as well.

    As of about a week ago, three of us can continue to join each others worlds but my oldest son can’t see us and we can’t see him.

    I tried searching his gamer tag to re-add him and it says “gamer tag not found”. He searched my tag and he found me and could add me but can’t see me on his friends list. I was able to get him added back to his brothers friends list and he can see his
    brother but when he clicks to join in he gets a “unable to connect to world” error.

    I’m at a loss at this point.

    Aside from uninstalling and reinstalling - which my son is adamently against because he is so worried he’ll lose his worlds - is there anything else to try?

    Hi there James welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Both of you try this!

    Open the Xbox Guide by pressing the guide button on the controller and select

    Settings.

    Select Network Settings.

    Select Advanced Settings.

    Under Change Settings select Alternate MAC Address.

    Select Clear.

    Allow the console to restart when prompted.

    I have seen this when one player is on a beta version of Minecraft and the other isn't.

    If one of you is on a PC, is the PC version of Minecraft moded?
