Minecraft not playing even with parent account

Hi. When I try to play Minecraft, I get an error message saying I can’t play on Realms or multiplayer because of how my Microsoft account is setup. However, I am playing with an adult account, allowed all the options etc. I have spent at least 2 hours trying to figure it out but I can’t. My son mostly plays on the Xbox, but we only have one account and it’s the parent account with no restrictions. Also, how do I get rid of the family setting thing? Thank you

    :)

    Hello,

Welcome to the Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well. I can see that you are having difficulties playing multiplayer with Minecraft. Let me see how I can assist you with this concern.

So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

To invite your Xbox friends to join you in a Minecraft game, select the Play button on the main menu in Minecraft, select Members, and then select the Invite button next to your friend’s name. Some players may need you to add them as an Xbox friend before you can invite them to your Minecraft world.

Organizers (adult accounts) in an Xbox family group can make sure that members (child accounts) can play all or some features of one of our favorite family-friendly titles, Minecraft.

    Adding friends in minecraft.

You probably have a child account. If you are not yet of legal adult age (usually 18), then you will need the help of your parents.

Your parents need to go to
    https://account.microsoft.com/family
and sign in with their own adult Microsoft Account.

After they signed in there, they'll have to add your Microsoft Account to the Family.

Then your parent has to go to
    https://account.xbox.com/settings
. Again the parent has to sign in with their adult Microsoft Account.

Then they should see your account. They need to click on your account and adjust the Privacy settings to at least allow you to see creations of friends.

Then they need to save the settings under the privacy tab, and move to the Xbox One/Windows 10 settings (even though you play on a smartphone).

There your parents need to allow you to play online multiplayer games.

After the settings have been saved there, you need to quit the Minecraft app (depending on which phone you use bring up the list of open apps, and swipe the Minecraft app away to close it).

Then wait about 10 minutes, and start Minecraft again. If necessary, sign out of the Microsoft Account in the game, and sign back in.

That should then apply the new settings and allow you to play multiplayer with friends or everyone (depending on what your parents set up).

Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition: I can't join my friend's game

While others already mentioned the different version, just make sure that your friend is NOT playing on the "Xbox One Edition" Minecraft. If the title shows "Xbox One Edition" under the Minecraft logo, you can't play together. She has to be playing on the
"Minecraft" without the "Xbox One Edition" in the title, the so-called "Bedrock" engine or "Better together update" Version. If she has Minecraft Xbox One Edition bought digitally, she can simply download the "Minecraft" for free.

If she has the Xbox One Edition on disc, she might have missed the deadline of having played at least 5 hours before January 31st 2018, and might not be eligible anymore to get the upgraded Minecraft for free.

Additionally, if your friend is still under 18 years old, be aware that her parents have to set up her account to be able to play online with other people. If necessary, their parents have to go to
https://account.microsoft.com/family and add her child account to their parent account, if not already done so.

The parents (or she as an adult with her own adult account) then go to
    https://account.xbox.com/settings
and set the online and privacy settings accordingly.

For Minecraft to work, she needs to be able to see creations from other players in the online and privacy settings.

And online multiplayer has to be allowed for Xbox One and Windows 10.

I wanted him to link it with mine because I'm only 11 and I need a parent's account to be able to play multiplayer on Minecraft.

P.S Sorry for the wait I was at school.
