    Minecraft not allowing multi-player due to account settings but all settings are corrrect.


    I have an issue and there seems to be no way to contact Microsoft directly during the hours im actually at home to deal with this issue, as their phone reps are only available literally hours i work, and apparently the only other option is to "ask a gamer"
    which i KNOW will not solve this as it seems to be an account issue....

    I am trying to play xbox (bedrock) minecraft on a server, from my xbox, but when I boot up minecraft it gives me a warning "you cannot play realms because of how your minecraft account is set up. See instructions......" I follow that link, change every option
    on every account I have Authority over (BTW I AM the adult account over 3 child accounts, I changed everything to allow on all accounts) to "Allow" and go reboot minecraft, my Xbox, log out and back in, try to log into one of my kids accounts since I gave
    them access like it says to do, and NOTHING works to be able to play realms or servers....all settings are allow and I even went and changed them all to "block" and back again thinking maybe its holding an old setting....still nothing.

    Trying to Google this only seems to bring up microsofts "help" page about the topic, which just leads me back to what I have already done, in an infinite feedback loop of absolutely unhelpful help pages and topics....

    Hopefully someone in here can help me along and get this fixed!

    Hi AugustineLee1, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    For you to manage it you can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings.

    If the system detects that your account is a child account you will be redirected to a support site and if not you will be able to change it successfully.

    If you were redirected to a support page, please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family and check if there is an organizer account linked to your account then use the organizer account so sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings then "allow" the setting on this screenshot:

    only gold membership is allowed multi-player access you will need to upgrade to gold in order to play on-line multi-player games. if you go into account setting from the support menu it will walk you through on how to setup a gold account there are a number
    of ways to do so.

    Do you have to wait until the 30 free trial of xbox live is done to allow the gold subscription to take effect? Meaning can I get my son a gold subscription and enter it now and override the free trial, non gold...??????????

    In order to play multiplayer on Xbox Live, you must have a Gold subscription and currently your gamer card is shown in silver letters indicating that you do not currently have a Gold subscription.

    Thank you for your response, I should have added more info.

    I have a microsift family account for my son, he has an xbox account attached as he has a nintendo switch with minecraft and we needed it for multiplayer.

    I have ticked allowed in the xbox account for multiplayer and clubs under his profile, yet it is still asking for me to allow multi player in microsoft settings.

    I am lost!!
