Minecraft no longer attached to Microsoft account

I bought Minecraft in its early days, though ever since they started to switch the accounts I've had issues logging in. I migrated the Mojang account to my Microsoft one, both operating on the same email, and had managed to play on it as recently as the start of this year. However, trying to log in today with the same email and password told me the password was wrong, and after resetting the password logging in created a second Microsoft account with the same email but no access to Minecraft. I can see the other original Microsoft account, which I imagine still has access, though both have the same name and email, just different profile pictures, therefore trying to log into the one I used to play Minecraft on just logs me into the random new one, telling me to buy it again.

Anyone experienced similar or knows a solution?

This problem usually happens when your account has been replaced by another one, lately many users have reported hacks on their accounts after downloading some Minecraft-related malware.

Check which account you are logged into, is it the account you are trying to use?

If so, verify that you are logged in with the same email and password in the Microsoft Store, the Xbox app, Xbox console companion and the Minecraft launcher.

Thanks for your response, though no problems noted. I hadn't even signed in since I last tried to play Minecraft, its possible something happened in that gap but with the amount of emails I get in relation to the account I doubt it! Haven't made any downloads related to Minecraft either.

It does look like its been replaced by another account though if that's what you mean? Just struck me as odd as they both have the same name und email so doesn't even let me try and log in to the original.

Hello, In order to fix this, you'll need to find the Microsoft account that you used the first time on Minecraft for PS4, it does not matter if you create a new Microsoft account because is the PS4 account the one that's linked to a specific Microsoft
account. If you don't remember which Microsoft account you used, you can go to Mojang support for them to check what's the Microsoft account that's linked to your PS4 account for Minecraft.
