Minecraft multiplayer achievement glitch (Nintendo Switch)

This error/glitch occured in Minecraft with another player in a shared world on my Nintendo Switch. The other player was on a PS4, using his VR headset.

I was in our world and working towards the Smelt Everything achievement in Minecraft. The other player was logging into our shared world. As soon as I put my last chest down, the achievement popped up for him, but not for me.

I took the structure down and rebuilt it- no achievement. I turned off my console, and went in the next day alone to try it, and nothing. My achievements show that Smelt Everything is still locked.

No error popped up. No matter what I try I am unable to unlock this achievement.

Suggestions on how I can fix this welcome.

Achievements in Minecraft are often glitchy, especially on Nintendo.

Were you the host? Sometimes that makes a difference.

I would attempt it in another world if that doesn’t work.

Do you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription?

Nintendo Switch Online subscription will be required for multiplayer. A free Microsoft account is recommended for players to get the most out of this version of Minecraft.

Does she have a Nintendo switch online subscription? It is required if she will be playing an online multiplayer game such as Minecraft.
