This can be a bit odd, but please try downloading and install the older Launcher marked as Windows 7/8 from this page - https://minecraft.net/download

After that sign in with the account that owns the game and try again

Yes. I have tried both accounts (old Mojang and new Microsoft) to log in on the launcher. Also for both on a fresh install of the launcher. When trying to login on the launcher with my old Mojang account, I get the notification that it has been migrated to my Microsoft one. And logging in with the Microsoft account gives the demo only option.

Next, I checked on my Microsoft account, and there I found that I only have the option to buy a new copy of Minecraft.

Sorry to hear about that, however, I encourage you to check your order history at account.microsoft.com/orders and check the full list if you're able to see the game. If not, that may mean you've redeemed the game on a different account.

If you're on PC, you may go to PC Settings > Accounts > Email & Accounts to see all the Microsoft accounts you've used and carefully check them.

If you're on console, try checking if there are any other profile logged in as you might be sharing it from a different profile.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Minecraft game.

Based on your description, the error suggests that the system can't find the Minecraft game license on your Microsoft account.

Your Minecraft account must have migrated to the original Microsoft account email address where it was first created.

In order to fix this, you will need to find the Microsoft account where your Minecraft was migrated and where your Minecraft Bedrock Edition game license was purchased.

Kindly sign in to all of your Microsoft email accounts on account.microsoft.com > payment and billing > order history > select the date of range when you purchased your Minecraft game.

If you have found the transaction, use the same Microsoft account to log in to Minecraft Launcher.

If you're unable to find the Minecraft Bedrock Edition transaction, check your other Microsoft email accounts' order history.
