Minecraft migration broke our account alignment, we now have two Outlook/MS accounts...

It's possible that this may have caused an error in the migration process. Hey, I can't log into minecraft after migrating my account to outlook.

My issue is that when I was migrating, apparently I had a Microsoft account that shared the name and tag ofmy gmail account (*** Email address is removed for privacy *** for outlook) , and I was able to migrate it that way, but now I can't log in using that email anymore, and it's telling me to use my outlook account, even though I am.

Is there a fix to this, or am I screwed?

We understand that you are trying to play Minecraft. However the migrated account you have used is now inaccessible. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

We would like too clarify if we understand this description well, is your Mojang account migrated to a Microsoft account that was not yours? - "I had when logging in put a wrong outlook email by one number and so then when the merge happened i couldnt login."

On account migration, were you asked to enter the Microsoft Email account and password to sign in and complete the process?

Or where the email account and password was already filled out of information and you have not had the time to manually sign in to your account?

I have an interpretation of your issue however it is still vague, or I cannot connect how you can play the game that was bought 6-7 years ago recently and had issues with the 2 different accounts.

This query you had seems to be referring to legacy Minecraft account. So, the first credential for Minecraft is now called legacy Minecraft account then there is a migration to Mojang account. For this part of migration, if you successfully migrated your account legacy Minecraft account to Mojang account. The missing step is the new migration of Mojang account to Microsoft account.

If you did not use this Mojang account to Microsoft account, then we do not need to sign in to Microsoft account. However, we still have not isolate the issue properly so please bear with me.

Please see the timeline and let me know if there is something you can add or correct:

• We migrated MC to the MS/Xbox account several years ago when MS brought out Mojang and everyone had to move to MS accounts.

  • How many accounts were migrated?
    
  • Do you play the game or just created an account?
    
• Minecraft was acquired by Microsoft year 2014. Source: Microsoft purchases 'Minecraft' - Stories
  
• You bought Minecraft 6-7 years ago (2016 - 2015) and there is no transaction ID.
  
  • May we know in what store did you bought Minecraft? Is it Microsoft Store or Minecraft or local physical store?
    
  • Did you purchase Minecraft for Windows or what edition?
    
  • Did you buy two copies or one?
    
  • What is the domain of this email (sample email domain: @live.com, @msn.com, @outlook.com, @hotmail.com)?
    
• I've only ever used this email for all of the MC accounts I have used for my children.
  
  • When was the last time your children played the game?
    
  • Are they sharing same credentials, or you sign them in before they play Minecraft?
    
  • Do they have Xbox achievements while playing Minecraft?
    
• I have 2 different Xbox profiles associated with 2 different Java MC accounts.
  
  • So, the Xbox profiles you mean here can be sign out and sign back in and play on the same Minecraft game?
    
  • What is the Operating System of your Windows device? Windows 11 or Windows 10?

I see. It's not possible to add the outlook email to your account with the iCloud email because outlook is a Microsoft email - it cannot be added or transferred to another Microsoft account. Even if you could transfer the outlook email to your account from the console, your Minecraft account is still linked to your other account since we cannot merge accounts. You will always have those two accounts. It's just a matter of changing email addresses or aliases but not their data.
