Minecraft migration - Account vanished and cannot be logged in or recovered?

I have two minecraft accounts. In this post i will use fake names/emails to describe my issue while protecting personal information -

The issue started when mojang accounts had to be migrated to microsoft accounts.

Account1 was made on mojang with email-g (placeholder name for emails)

Account2 was made on mojang with a newer email, email-j

When Account1 was migrated, I used email-j as my microsoft account (as email-j is my main email now)

When i clicked migrate on Account2, it instantly migrated, with me having no idea what microsoft account it went to. I have contacted mojang support and they tell me the account has been migrated to microsoft - however i cannot login as I A) don't know the email and B) cant find out anything other than the username and password to the minecraft account. However, microsoft doesn't let you login to minecraft with only the username.

It is as if Account2 vanished, this issue has been happening for ~20 days now with no luck on solving it!

Please reply if anyone has similar issues or knows any details on fixing it, thanks - I hope to get the account back with any proof i can find of me owning the account.

If you try to sign in on the Minecraft website with account2 (the mojang account) does it tell you that the account is already migrated and you need to sign in with the migrated account, or does it tell you that the username or password is incorrect/the account does not exist?

Sorry to hear about the issue. Please be advised that in recovering a Microsoft account, we must know exactly the correct email address because it is the primary key in accessing or recovering the account. Without it, you may not be able to recover the right account.

Have you already check your email history regarding your Minecraft account migration?

If you knew the gamertag of the account or phone number that was possibly attached to the account where your Minecraft was migrated to, you may try to recover it from https://account.live.com/username/recover

I understand you need help on your account issue. Just a heads up that you cannot have 2 Microsoft accounts linked to 1 Minecraft or Xbox account. Which means that if you are logged in to the email that you have and is getting a different gamertag, this means that this email is being linked to a different Xbox account and you might be using a different email to your Minecraft account before.

It is possible that this was linked to another Microsoft account email and you need to check your other emails to see if those are linked to the correct Minecraft account. If this was through migration, try to remember what email it was that you used during migration.

Okay, I was unclear when I said "cannot access the account". I meant that because it's not migrated, I can't log in with it. I still have the correct login information. It just won't log me in because it's not a Microsoft account.

The article you linked also mentions contacting Minecraft support if you think your account was migrated by someone else. Assuming the process is truly irreversible, what point would contacting Minecraft support even serve?

If you migrated Minecraft to your Microsoft account, and it was this account that was hacked, it will be the one you have to try to recover.
