    Minecraft Launcher won't install - error code: 0x8007007e


    Minecraft Launcher will not install from the Microsoft Store. I click "Install" and it thinks for a while and the blue "Install" shows up again.

    I tried installing on the Xbox app, but I get the error code: 0x8007007e

    I have also tried to run the Minecraft Launcher installer downloaded from the Minecraft.net website. It tries to install and displays "Windows is updating" but then there is a problem communicating with Microsoft Store.

    I have followed all the following advice from the forum:

    These steps can help you, give it a try.
    Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.
    1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app
    2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset.
    3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.
    4. Open the Microsoft Store app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner>downloads updates>get updates and update everything.
    5. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.

    But this has not solved the problem. Can someone please help? I have had ongoing issues with Minecraft for months, mostly the Minecraft Launcher runs just fine, then suddenly the Launcher has an issue and I have to terminate, restore and reset. But this time I have really tried everything and I can't get the Launcher to work again.

    UPDATE: I just got the Minecraft Launcher re-installed, it successfully started installing from the Microsoft Store. The last thing I tried before Launcher started installing was a terminate, restore and reset on Gaming Services.

    Are you only getting that error code when trying to install Minecraft launcher? Kindly check if you're able to install other apps or games using MS store app.
