    Minecraft launcher will not download or install


    So far all the articles and help offered are ****.

    If I download the installer from the minecraft website it will launch, I'll get two requests to allow the app to make changes to my computer, and then nothing. It'll spin for a long time and end up telling me it can't install the launcher and directing me to download from the Microsoft store.

    Once in the store, it will either spin and spin without ever doing anything, or else it will give me a popup asking where to install the file. However, that popup never finishes populating and doesn't offer a choice to actually install anything. Sometimes the install button in the store stays greyed out and won't do anything.

    I have, so far, downloaded new .exe from the minecraft website. I have logged out and back into the store. I have used WSReset to reset the store. I have ensured my computer is setting time and date automatically.

    Nothing helps, and I've yet to see an actual solution offered here.

    I would assume you are trying to download on a windows pc.

    You will have to install the minecraft launcher first.

    To play Minecraft: Java Edition, download and install the correct launcher for your operating system. Sign into the Launcher using your Microsoft account, and you will be able to run Java Edition.

    To play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, you will need a device running Windows 10 or 11 to download and install the newest version of the Launcher, within which you can launch and play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Sign into the Launcher using your Microsoft account, and you will be able to run Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

    You seem to be using the Legacy Launcher which is the old version and does not support Minecraft Bedrock. Please try downloading the latest Minecraft Launcher. You can download it from here https://www.xbox.com/games/store/Minecraft-Laun...

    If you have the Xbox app installed in your PC, you can also install Minecraft Launcher in there.

    After installing the Minecraft Launcher, please try to check if you will have the same issue accessing Minecraft Bedrock. Check if your multiplayer works now too.

    New minecraft launcher install error, code 0x87E00017 (this error ONLY happens with the minecraft launcher download, not anything else on the store)

    If you have the game installed, remove and cancel installation via the store, from Mojang website download launcher and install. In the launcher login with your Microsoft account, after that you will be able to download Minecraft and Java Edition through the launcher.
