minecraft just not working

so i bought minecraft (made a minecraft account) then later when i try to logg on to that account in game the password does not work and when i ask for a password reset it never gets sendt to the gmail account. i even have a mail on that account that show my reciept but the password reset is never there it never appears i have checked the spam folder nothing. so in all i wasted 20$ on nothing, either i want a refund or i want help with it

Minecraft is allowed through the firewall. And this had been working just fine until the recent windows and minecraft updates.

You may want to attempt a reinstall on your device. Please refer to this article from Microsoft to uninstall Minecraft and
reinstall it through the Microsoft Store. Did you buy Minecraft during a trial?

thanks for the reply. I have tried reinstalling it with no luck. My son thinks it was bought/installed during a trial. Did that cause the problem? thanks
