    Minecraft JAVA edition not being purchased?


    Hi,

    I bought Microsoft's Minecraft Java Edition for my son. He completed the purchase through his account, I approved it and paid for it and it shows up under his profile under "family safety". When he downloads the launcher and tries to open the game, it simply loops back to the purchase page where we can buy it? Please help.

    Hi,

    Minecraft Java Edition can be purchased from thier store page using your Microsoft Account:

    https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-edition

    And then being accessed with the (free) Minecraft Launcher on the Microsoft Store.

    Both Windows and Java Editions are included with Xbox Game Pass for PC/Ultimate subscription.

    Okay so you cannot purchase Java through Microsoft. You can only purchase (for now) Java edition through Mojang.com as is described here: How to Purchase Minecraft: Java Edition. Microsoft only sells the Windows 10 edition in our online stores and apps.

    Do you have the confirmation email for your purchase of Java edition? (Do not post here, only confirm or deny).

    Windows 10 minecraft and java edition are both two different types of Editions unfortunately you would have to buy the java edition on the minecraft website.
