    Hi all! I've owned MC: Java for about 15 years, and recently when I upgraded to the newest launcher, I found that the product is no longer playable. At first, I was having problems getting online. I would start the MC launcher. It would update itself. Then when it opened up, it only allowed me to "play offline." I troubleshooted this in various ways, including by uninstalling and reinstalling the software more than once. I was never able to connect to the Internet and play online. Then, it got worse. At some point I no longer was able to download my (already purchased) MC: Java app and am now in a situation where I can only "Play Demo" unless I re-purchase the game on the Microsoft Store. It used to be that I could go Mojang's site, and it would recognize that I had purchased the game and would allow me to download it for free. Now I can't do that anymore. So to summarize: 1.) I am unable to play MC: Java online ("Oh no! Something went wrong, and we couldn't connect to the Minecraft services."); and 2.) I am unable to re-acquire my (already paid-for) MC: Java app. The only way I can play MC: Java, now, is if I purchase it for a second time from the Microsoft Store. And I'll probably never get it to play online. What gives?

    edit: correction: I can still download the game for free, but once installed, it tells me that I have to buy it on the store if I'm going to play the whole thing. There is a pop-up on the right side of the launcher that says "To access the entire MC: Java with this account," please buy the game at the store.

    Minecraft Migration - loss of bedrock edition?

    That’s odd because if this is the Minecraft for Windows it will be purchased through Microsoft Store. The Minecraft that can be purchased through Mojang is Minecraft Java Edition.

    Kindly make sure that you’re signed in under the account where the Mojang account was migrated. Please try other Microsoft accounts as well.
    Thanks Francia, maybe i am mistaken and it is java edition that I own.
    I would like to add that when I log into minecraft.net and click on 'Get Minecraft' > 'Minecraft Java Edition' it gives me a download option NOT a buy option and says beside it "Already own Minecraft? Download it again."

    I have submitted a ticket to Mojang with screenshots of everything so hopefully, we will be able to figure this out soon.

    I bought Minecraft Java edition for windows 10 from Microsoft Store but library it is showing that you don't have any game purchase .

    Did you purchase it on Microsoft Store/Microsoft Website or Mojang's website?

    Because on Microsoft Store, there is no Minecraft Java Edition, it is available on Mojang's website.

    New Minecraft launcher won't connect since I changed my main alias from my Microsoft account.

    When Minecraft stopped working, I used my Microsoft account. And this issue happened after I changed my main alias from E-Mail 2 to E-Mail 1. I can play Minecraft if I log in with my E-Mail 2.

    I purchased Minecraft on my Mojang account before the migration, but I don't use my mojang account and that Microsoft account that was migrated to.

    With my Mojang account (E-Mail 1) migrated to Microsoft account (E-Mail 4) I bad the Java Edition. With my first Microsoft account (E-Mail 1, now 3) I had Minecraft Bedrock Edition. And with the other MIcrosoft account (E-Mail 2, now 1) I have both Java and Bedrock.

    I purchased Minecraft Bedrock Edition on my Microsoft Account (E-Mail 1, now 3) from the Microsoft Store and I purchased Minecraft Bedrock Edition on my Microsoft account (E-Mail 2, now 1) from the Microsoft Store but the Java Edition I purchased from minecraft.net. On my Mojang account (E-Mail 1, now migrated to Microsoft Account with E-Mail 3) I bought Minecraft Java from minecraft.net.

    Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. the promotion for buying the Minecraft: Java Edition and receiving the Windows 10 version for free is only valid if the Java Edition was purchased prior to October 19, 2018, so that is no longer
    valid at this time. If you did make the purchase of the Java Edition prior to that date, you would need to go to your Mojang account in order to claim the gift code. For further information concerning this, you may check out the topic
