Minecraft: Java Edition fails to connect to minecraft services

Hello! This issue popped up yesterday. Nothing has changed on my end, same launcher, account migrated months ago, no new programs on my PC, not even a new minecraft instance within the launcher itself. It just stopped letting me play online, and I exclusively play on servers so this is very irritating. I'm playing on windows 7. I've already went through several first pages of google results with searches of the name of the issue and tried every fix I could find, but nothing seems to work. Reinstalled my launcher several times, changed my account password, restarted my PC and my internet router several times to no avail. Also, most fixes I've seen that people say worked for them were only possible on windows 10 :/ Am I out of options but to wait for it to resolve itself or is there something i can do to fix this?

I have the exact same issue since yesterday, I also play on windows 7. I've tried everything but nothing works.

Hello mimim2,

The Minecraft launcher you are referring to is only for the Java edition of Minecraft. The Java edition and Windows 10, are two separate games. In order to launch and play Minecraft from the launcher you are using in the last image, you must buy the Java
edition from the site, not the Windows 10 version. Minecraft Java Edition | Minecraft. Annoying I know, but when Microsoft acquired Minecraft they released
their own version of the game on their platform. Hope this helps

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

I set all xbox related services to automatic and started them. There are no "gaming services".

Since I reinstalled windows last night "Minecraft for windows" is the only game that has successfully installed through the Xbox app. Ive attempted many times today to install the title "Minecraft Java Edition" which the Xbox app says I "own" and to "install" but continue to run into an error 0x00000001. As we speak I am attempting to install Halo: The Master Chief Collection but like the previous title "Minecraft Java Edition", it has failed to download.

I am able to successfully launch and Play "Minecraft for Windows" but am currently Unable to download any other title.
